FAQ

A 10-pass card is a coupon card that is valid for 10 gym or group training sessions. The card is valid for 1 year from the first training session. You can buy a 10-pass card at the reception desk or online.

Gerdahallen actively works to be a doping-free training facility. Doping is not in line with the basic principles of sport and society and is therefore not welcome here. Furthermore, we stand for clean and healthy training without the use of doping substances, alcohol and narcotics.

We define doping substances as set out in the Swedish anti-doping sport regulations and the Swedish law prohibiting doping substances. We cooperate with the police in our efforts.

Book online and check in at reception

You can book your place for a group training class via our website or app. Bookings can be made up to 6 days in advance, and you can have a maximum of 5 active bookings at any one time. Special rules apply for workshops and special classes.

When you arrive at the gym, you must check in for the class using one of the screens at the reception. You can check in from 2 hours before the class starts, and you must check in no later than 5 minutes before the class starts. If you arrive later than 5 minutes before the class starts, it will be considered a missed booking. You will receive a missed booking email and your place will be released for drop in. If you still wish to attend the class, you can do so via drop in.

You can join the waiting list if the class is full

If a class is fully booked, you can place a reservation on the waiting list. This reservation will be converted to a regular booking if someone cancels at least 2 hours before the class starts and you are number one on the waiting list.

Did you not get a place in the class? It might still be worth coming to the gym. Exactly 5 minutes before the class starts, we will release any unused places. If you stand by the check-in screen, you might still be able to get a place.

You do not always have to book in advance

You can join a class by booking a drop-in place at one of the reception screens. This is possible from 2 hours before the class starts. However, if you want to be guaranteed a place, you must book in advance.

You can book classes via our app or website

The easiest way to book a group class is by using our app. If you prefer to book through the website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the schedule page in the top menu.
  2. Click on Group Training Schedule, then Book.
  3. Choose the desired class and click on Book.
  4. Log in using your personal login details.
(Please refer to the App section on this page for more information.)
  5. You have now booked the class. You will see a confirmation above the schedule.

Guest bookings are available

If you do not have a Gerdahallen card, you can still make a guest booking through customer service. We will need your name and personal identity number. The booking rules are the same as for regular class bookings.

Cancellations

Cancel appointments no later than the day before

If you need to cancel your physio, massage or PT appointment, you must do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled consultation. If you cancel later than that, you will be charged the fee. You can cancel by contacting costumer service, your physiotherapist or your PT.

Cancel group training classes no later than 2 hours before

You need to cancel group training classes at least 2 hours before starting time. The easiest way to do that is by using our website or app. It is your responsibility to cancel on time.

If you miss attending your booked group training twice in a month, your card will be blocked for further bookings. You will then only be able to join group trainings through drop in. Your card will be blocked for 30 days, but you can activate it earlier by paying an administration fee of 95 SEK at the reception desk or in the app.

You can cancel through our app or website

You can cancel your group training either in the app or on our website. In the app, click on your booked class and select Cancel. On the website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the schedule page in the menu.
  2. Log in.
  3. Click on your name and go to My pages.
  4. Click on See more on the booked class and select Cancel.
  5. You have now cancelled the class.

If you have the Månad Flex card type you have the right to freeze your card 2 times a year between 30-90 days per occasion. There must be at least 1 month between freezes.

You have the right to freeze your card on presentation of a doctor’s certificate. This applies to all training cards. The minimum number of days is 30 and the maximum number of months is 6 per calendar year. You can freeze your card a maximum of 2 times/year.

You may also freeze your training card for studies in another location upon presentation of a study certificate. This applies to all training cards. The minimum number of days is 30 and the maximum number of months is 6. You can freeze your card a maximum of 2 times/year.

Your training card is personal and may not be misused or handed over to anyone else.

Misuse of a training card is a violation of the rules of conduct (see § 10) and is handled in accordance with § 11. In addition, the training card is seized in the event of misuse and can be redeemed for a fee determined by the board.

If you lose your training card or if it is damaged so that it becomes unusable, you can buy a new card for a compensation of SEK 100.

Only in very special cases will the card be refunded. Contact customer service what applies in your particular case.

Pay automatically with direct debit

Direct debit (autogiro in Swedish) means that we automatically withdraw money from your bank account each month. To sign up for direct debit, you must

  • have a Swedish personal identity number (ÅÅÅÅMMDD-NNNN)
  • be at least 18 years old
  • have a Swedish bank account
  • register your email address with Gerdahallen.

Would you like us to withdraw money from an account other than your own? Then the person who owns the account must come with you to sign the contract.

RCP works without a Swedish personal identity number

If you do not have a Swedish personal identity number, you can still set up automatic monthly payments with your bank card. This is called RCP (Recurring Card Payment).

You pay in advance

With direct debit and RCP you pay in advance. This means that the money we withdraw in January is for February, and so on. We withdraw the money on the 27th of each month. You make the first payment when you sign the contract. If you sign the contract before the 15th of the month, you pay for the remaining days of that month. If you sign the contract after the 15th of the month, you pay for the remaining days of that month and the whole of the following month. The price per day remains the same regardless of when you sign up.

Your account must have sufficient funds

If you have insufficient funds in your account when we attempt to withdraw the monthly payment, we will try again the next day. We will then make three attempts. If there are still no funds, we will try again on the next month’s payment date. Meanwhile, your training card will be suspended. You can easily pay your debts at the reception. Just let us know, and we will assist you.

If your account lacks sufficient funds for 3 months, we will

  • terminate your subscription
  • send you an invoice for the remaining contract period plus an administration fee
  • have the right to refuse you a new automatic payment plan.

Debt recovery is unpleasant but necessary if you fail to pay despite reminders. So, please make sure to follow the rules and pay invoices on time. You are always welcome to contact customer service if you have questions.

Cancel your subscription properly

You can cancel your subscription in our app under My Pages. Please make sure you cancel before the 20th of the month you want to be the last. Otherwise, the system will receive the payment for the next month. We will send you a confirmation to your email when we receive your cancellation request. Contact customer service if you need help cancelling your subscription.

Do not cancel your direct debit or RCP through your bank – this will be considered a breach of the contract. If you do, we will send you an invoice for the remainder of the contract period plus an administration fee. Your training card will be suspended until the invoice is paid.

Keep track of your contract period

The two subscriptions we offer have different contract periods. Month Fixed is for 12 months and Month Flex is for 1 month. Please note that you cannot cancel Month Flex in the month you sign up. Read more about our subscriptions in the Subscribe to Month Fixed or Month Flex section.

Teenagers, students, senior citizens and Lund University employees can get a discount on their training card. You need to provide proof of eligibility when buying the card or subscribing. If you are a teenager or senior, simply show your identification. If you are a student or Lund University employee, we require both identification and a certificate. The certificate may be a student ID or your latest payslip from Lund University.

Discount on Month Fixed
When you subscribe to Month Fixed, you will keep the discounted price throughout the contract period (12 months). Remember to show a new certificate at least 30 days before the contract expires. Otherwise, your subscription will switch to the regular price.

Discount on Month Flex
If you have subscribed to Month Flex, carefully check your student ID or similar certificate. Your discounted price is valid only until the certificate’s expiration date. To maintain the discounted price, you must show a new certificate before the expiration date. Please do this well in advance since we charge the fee for the upcoming month on the 27th. If your certificate does not cover the entire upcoming month, the subscription will switch to the regular price. If you have a payslip or another certificate without an expiration date, you need to show a new one at the beginning of each semester instead.

Discount on annual and 10-pass cards
To get a discount on the annual or 10-pass card, you only need to present a certificate when you buy it.

Forgotten to bring your card to the gym? Show your ID at the reception desk and they will let you in. Please do not forget to bring your card more than 4 times in a year. From the fifth time onwards, it will cost you 50 SEK to enter the gym.

Bring a friend to the gym! As a Gerdahallen member, you have 3 friend passes per calendar year. You can use them for one or several friends on one or multiple occasions. The reception must be open when you arrive, and you, as a Gerdahallen member, must be present.

Different prices for different age groups

As a parent or guardian with an active training card, you can bring children aged 2–6 years free of charge to activities such as Family Gym. For children aged 7–11 years, a single pass costs 49 SEK and a 10-pass card costs 395 SEK. Teenagers aged 12 and over can buy their own training cards according to the price list.

Children aged 12–14 can use the gym in adult company and join group classes

Children between the ages of 12 and 14 can use the gym during regular opening hours, accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult authorised by the parent or guardian. A child may have more than one authorised adult in their contract. An adult can be listed on more than one child’s contract but may only supervise a maximum of three children during the same training session. Both the child and the accompanying adult must have an active training card to access the gym. Children over the age of 12 can join group training classes without adult supervision.

Teenagers aged 15 and over can use the gym on their own

Teenagers can use the gym on their own starting from the age of 15. Anyone under the age of 20 receives a youth discount and pays the same price as students.

  • Always wear clean indoor training shoes and clean clothes in the gym. Do not take off your t-shirt/top while working out.
  • Please return equipment after use.
  • Free weights such as dumbbells and barbell weights to be used on designated areas only.
  • Allow others access to machines while resting or in between sets.
  • Leave any bags and outerwear in designated areas outside of the gym area.

You can secure your belongings in our lockers during your workout. Lockers are available both inside and outside the changing rooms and the gym. Some lockers require your training card for locking, while others need a padlock. You can buy padlocks at the reception if you do not already have one. Remember to empty the locker when you leave the gym – storing items in the lockers overnight is prohibited.

If your training card is lost or damaged, you can buy a new one for 100 SEK.

To train at Gerdahallen you must be a member and have an active training card. The membership fee is paid on an annual basis and is independent of your training card. As a member, we expect you to approve and abide by our membership terms.

Monthly cardS

RCP (Recurring Card Payment)

General information

An RCP (Recurring Card Payment) is a recurring monthly payment that is made in advance for the coming month and is deducted from the payer’s bank card.

By signing a card consent for payment via RCP, the payer allows that withdrawals may be made via the specified bank card, at the request of the specified payee (Gerdahallen) on a certain day (due date) via RCP. It is the payer’s responsibility to make sure that Gerdahallen has correct bank card number and expiration date.

Payment information

The first payment is always made when signing up for an RCP agreement and the amount corresponds to the number of days remaining until the first possible withdrawal from the payer’s bank card. The amount varies depending on the date the agreement is signed.

If the agreement is signed before the 15th of the month, you pay for the remaining days of the month. If the agreement is signed after the 15th of the month, you pay for the remaining days of the month and the entire next month.

Payment is made in advance, on the 27th of each month, starting with the closest possible payment day after signing the consent.

Three attempts are made on the next banking day after the due date if there is no cover in the account on the due date. Invoice is sent to the payer’s specified e-mail address in the event of a failed draw. The training card will be blocked for entry until payment is received by Gerdahallen.

Invoicing fee / reminder fee will be added. An invoice that has fallen due is sent for collection after two reminders.

The training card will be terminated if there are at least three unpaid invoices. A final invoice will be sent if a binding period remains.

Monthly fee

Month Fixed (binding period 12 months) – If the customer is entitled to a discounted monthly fee, the certificate must be presented again no later than 30 days before the binding period expires. RCP with the discounted price is then extended until the date presented. Otherwise, the price will change to the regular price.

To maintain the discounted price, the customer is required to present a new certificate at least 10 days before the current certificate expires.

Month Flex – If the customer is entitled to a discounted monthly fee, the certificate must be presented again no later than 10 days before the date of the certificate expires. Otherwise, the price will change to the regular price.

To maintain the discounted price, the customer is required to present a new certificate at least 10 days before the date of current certificate expires.

Gerdahallen reserves the right to make price changes for training cards during the term of the agreement, but not during the binding period. Price change information is provided by email at least 30 days before it takes effect.

Freezing

Freezing can be granted for a minimum of one month and a maximum of six months upon presentation of a medical certificate or study certificate for studies abroad / elsewhere. A training card can be frozen two times. During the freezing period, no monthly payments are deducted, these are resumed when the training card becomes active again. Termination of RCP cannot take place during a freezing period.

Termination

Termination applies to the entire calendar month, as RCP is an ongoing monthly payment that is made in advance. An agreement that is not terminated continues without a commitment period.

Termination is done in Gerdahallen’s app under My Pages and it applies to both AG and RCP. Go to  My Pages in the app> Subscription; click on the green button and then on Cancel subscription. Confirmation of the cancellation will be sent to your email address.

For questions, contact kundservice@gerdahallen.com

Month Fixed (binding period 12 months) – Termination can take place after the end of the binding period, no later than the 20th of the current month.

Month Flex – Termination cannot take place in the same month as RCP is signed. Thereafter, termination can take place no later than the 20th of the current month.

Gerdahallen offers two monthly cards: Standard and Flex.

AG

Standard monthly card

Commitment period: 12 months. After twelve months, the agreement continues to apply until you terminate it. Once twelve months have passed, you can terminate the agreement at the latest 5 working days prior to the 27th of the current month, to avoid being charged a further month’s fees. The card is paid monthly from your bank account. If you are entitled to a discount, you must show certification again no later than 30 days before the end of your commitment period. The monthly card at the discounted fee is then extended for six months.

To sign an agreement on consent for payment via direct debit, you must be over 18 years old.

Gerdahallen reserves the right to change the prices of membership cards during the period of validity of the agreement, although not during the fixed commitment period. Information on price changes is provided via email at least 30 days before the new price enters into force.

Unpaid monthly fee is invoiced and an additional invoicing fee is added. Gerdahallen reserves the right to block the training card if the monthly fee remains unpaid.

The subscription is restarted when the entire debt has been paid.

There will be an invoicing fee if you do not have a valid consent.

Flex monthly card

Commitment period: current + subsequent month.

The agreement continues to apply until you terminate it. You must terminate the agreement at the latest 5 working days prior to the 27th of the current month to avoid being charged a further month’s fees. The card is paid monthly from your bank account, or by debit card. If you are entitled to a discount, you must show certification again no later than 30 days before the end of your commitment period. The monthly card at the discounted fee is then extended for six months.

To sign an agreement on consent for payment via direct debit, you must be over 18 years old.

Gerdahallen reserves the right to change the prices of membership cards during the period of validity of the agreement, although not during the commitment period.

We sell single tickets at the reception.

If you are not a student, you can buy a trial week. You will get a refund if you buy a training card within 10 days after it ends.

At Gerdahallen, we offer free internet. Our network is called “Gerdahallen Guest,” and the password is “Gerdahallen.”

If you have an active training card, you are welcome to train at Gerdahallen around the clock. Here is how to access the gym when the reception is closed:

  1. Place your training card against the card reader outside the main entrance to enter.
  2. Check in for the gym as usual with one of the screens in the reception area.
  3. To exit, place your training card against the card reader between the doors at the main entrance.

  • The premises are alarmed and monitored.

At Gerdahallen, we help each other in case of emergencies. Remember:

  • First aid supplies, stretcher and defibrillator are available in the square.
  • In case of emergency, you can use the phone located by the reception restroom. You may not use it for any other purpose. A fine of 500 SEK will be imposed if you do.

“Everyone has time to exercise!

I have been physically active all my life. Initially involved in track and field, I found my way to the gym during my teenage years, where I became enchanted by the weights. I competed in bodybuilding and fitness, which was an incredibly enriching and enjoyable period of my life.

I’m passionate about witnessing people evolve, strengthen their self-confidence, and enhance their self-esteem. Exercise should be challenging, empowering, and synonymous with joy! That’s why I’m taking on the role of gym manager and personal trainer at the wonderful Gerdahallen. I look forward to getting to know all of you who make the gym the unique place it is. Together, I believe we can develop the facility and create an even more inspiring training environment, where motivation, order, and the joy of exercise are our guiding principles.

I always encourage physical activity, which sounds more complex than it actually is. Physical activity is any form of movement that increases energy expenditure. You know the classics: walk an extra bus stop, take the stairs instead of the elevator… That’s where we need to start, in order to incorporate an active lifestyle into our goals. If we’re instead just going for walks or aimless jogs, perhaps hitting the gym a few times a week but always using the same weights and seeing neither decline nor improvement – then we’re engaging in exercise as physical activity. I want to encourage those of you who enjoy light exercise (which is great if you do – exercise is very beneficial!) to step it up and start training! Training is purposeful physical activity aimed at systematically strengthening specific abilities and capacities over the long term. To succeed in our training, we need a long-term plan and a specific program to follow. That’s where I come in as a Personal Trainer. I’ll help you discover appropriate methods that foster adaptation to increased demands. Through this, along with a long-term and sustainable (I don’t believe in diets) nutrition plan, we will together transform your life, enhance your quality of life, and improve your self-image.

I know that everyone has time to exercise. It’s all about priorities. I’ll help you find the inspiration, and with it, we’ll find the time! Feel welcome to email me if we’re going to work together to achieve your goals!

Take care!

/Frida”
